Meet Dr. S. Michael Vaughan
Hi, I’m Dr. Michael Vaughan—welcome to Peak Dental Utah. I became a dentist because I love connecting with people and helping them feel truly confident about their oral health and their smile. My approach to dentistry is grounded in empathy, clinical precision, and meaningful communication. I believe every patient deserves to feel respected, informed, and cared for—whether you’re here for a routine cleaning or a complete smile transformation.
My Training & Background
I earned my undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University (BYU), then completed my Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), graduating with honors in research. Following dental school, I pursued an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency through New York University (NYU), where I received specialized training in:
- Cosmetic dentistry
- Dental prosthetics
- Oral surgery
- Implant placement and restoration
This advanced training continues to shape how I plan, deliver, and refine care—especially for patients needing restorative treatments, dental implants, or long-term solutions.
I’ve been practicing full-time since 2016 and have spent the last eight years as a proud dental practice owner here in Murray.
How I Practice Dentistry
I take a methodical and compassionate approach to dentistry, combining modern digital tools with thoughtful long-term treatment planning. Whether I’m placing a same-day crown, designing an implant-supported bridge, or simply walking someone through their options for the first time, my goal is to make sure you leave feeling informed and confident.
I especially enjoy building relationships with patients and helping those who may have had negative dental experiences in the past feel at ease again.
Outside the Office
When I’m not in the operatory, I’m home with my amazing wife—originally from Peru—and our four young children. Life at home is filled with joy, adventure, and far more dad jokes than my kids are willing to admit. I enjoy reading, sailing, camping, and speaking Spanish—so if Spanish is your preferred language, I’m happy to connect with you in Spanish as well.
